To whomsoever it may concern, I write this letter of recommendation for Romy Aardse: freelance writer, artist, researcher, designer. I have known Romy for two years now and have worked with her in diverse capacities: as part of a team I was managing on a natural homes construction project in Northern India; as a long distance team mate tackling organizational challenges in a transnational series of projects; as a volunteer coordinator and on-the-ground project leader in our work in Bihar; and now I continue to work with Romy as our Researcher, Writer and Designer with the Vasudhaiva Ride.

 

Romy is a rare gem, as far as team members goes. She works with passion that she channels effectively into her efforts. I have seen Romy produce professional reports in half the time it takes most people, and I have seen her demonstrate her ability to change her style of writing and design according to the need at hand. Her writing and work are, needless to say, excellent, and while she is still gaining experience in different fields such as design, she has an uncanny ability to gain new skills quickly.

 

And this is what sets Romy apart. Not her skills alone, but her character. Any employer will know that skills can be developed in a team mate, but a positive disposition and a bit of resilience is not so easy to build. Romy has brought to our work together incredible energy, that has inspired our other members to new heights of work, creativity and stunning end products.

 

It should be noted that while our work in the Vasudhaiva Ride is at a professional level—and indeed must be due to the nature of our work—Romy has not taken payment for her work. And this is a testament to her committed nature.
